The Whitehall Manor Homeowners Association annual meeting took place April 17, 2007 at the Apex Community Center.
Here are some highlights from the meeting:
- Town manager Bruce Radford addressed the homeowners and took questions. He talked about many issues, including growth in the town, the development of Salem Village, the possible changes in traffic near Whitehall Manor due to the Apex Peakway, and speedbumps.
- Brandon Whelan and Mary Lou Jackson were elected to fill the vacant Board of Directors positions.
- Speed bumps and traffic were discussed amongst those attending, and Seth Packham explained the town’s official process for a neighborhood to get traffic calming devices. While all agreed that speeding is a problem, an informal poll was taken among those present and it was clear that a majority did not want the Board to pursue the town’s official process. The Board encouraged interested homeowners to pursue any grassroots efforts, if they felt they could garner the support.
- The Board announced new contracts with TruGreen for landscape mainenance and HRW, Inc. for association management.
- The new Whitehall Manor HOA Web site was unveiled and demoed.
- The recent landscaping changes along the blind curve were discussed, with some expressing displeasure with the drastic change and lack of communication. The Board emphasized their focus on safety, and committed to continue to improve the appearance of the landscaping.
- The homeowners present had a chance to ask questions and make suggestions for the Board, which led to lively discussion on several topics, including access to the pool, the budget, the continued negotiations with Canapex, and landscaping, among others.
The Board thanks all those who attended and participated in the annual meeting.
